Snow is a great junior college, especially if you like a small campus and a small town vibe. The professors and advisors are friendly, a great help, and usually easily accessed. Also, there may not be much to do, but the things available are enjoyable.
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
My top would be to get involved. There are quite a few options in clubs and activities and there is a wide variety, from horticulture club (Snow Roots) to Japanese club. There is also the Honors club, which is a great opportunity and really isn't hard to join and be in.
Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?
So far the course load hasn't been too hard. Obviously there is going to be some difficulty and challenge as that is part of college, but the work makes sense and is doable. The professors are helpful and let you know when they're available. There is also tutoring available for most subjects and courses.
Describe the dorm life at your college.
Dorm life at Snow is really fun, especially if you get involved. The resident life members try really hard to have activities that are interesting and engaging and they are always there for you.
Describe the food and dining at your college.
There sadly aren't a lot of options when it comes to dining in Ephraim, but there are some awesome places like Roy's Pizza and the Snow Dragon. However there are Denny's Runs, in which students drive 30 to 40 miles to the nearest Denney's in the middle of the night.
Which types of students will excel at your college?
Snow College is great for students who are apprehensive about college. This is because the campus is small, the locals are friendly, and it really isn't that expensive. If you are questioning if college is for you, and want a taste of what it would be like, without spending a fortune, Snow is for you.
