REVIEWS
Read What Students Are SayingSavannah State makes tons of learning opportunities available to you, but you have to seek them out on your own. Going to class is not enough! The library has great hours, and there are a dozen tutors on campus. If you utilize these your grades will really improve. Make sure if you are placed in 100- level classes, you do your best to test out quickly! Also keep in mind that your professors are your friends! Do not go an entire semester without stopping by during their office hours.
Simone from Beaverton, OR
Professors take the time to work with you if you need help. That is if you don't give them a hard time during class. They normally help during office hours, so make sure you find out the hours and use it to your advantage.

Being a student at SSU you have to have a lot of patience with the staff. SSU has a large number of students that attend there, so you will have to stay away from procrastinating on certain projects. Overall as a student there i would say that its a very good and reasonable university.
Dennis from Richmond Hill, GA
I love my HBCU. In every department I have had the opportunity to work with, someone is always ready to help you do better. Building connections is key, but if you do the experience is great, and you can truly get anywhere from here.
Chantel from JACKSONVILLE, FL
This is a great school if you love small class rooms and campuses.
Simmons from Savannah, GA
Savannah State University is a proud HBCU with a campus full of history. This University has already opened doors for me, giving me different opportunities for a career path. The University motto of you can get anywhere from here is quite fitting.
Sean from Wrens, GA
The teachers are very nice if you take the time to get to know them. Tons of assistance from different organizations and groups if you in need of help with homework or tutoring.
Khalyn from Rockmart, GA
While I don't find my courses to be too strenuous, I do feel like I'm learning. Some may complain that the teachers are too lax, or feel as though they're not doing their job, but in my own opinion your learning experience is your own. The teacher's teaching, or lack thereof, shouldn't deter you from learning as much as you can.
Ada from Washington, DC
Savannah State University is one of the Historically Black College/University in the South and the only university that lies on the coast. The campus is beautiful and they offer great academic and extracurricular activities that one can join. The staff and the students are interactive and fun to be around.
