Throughout the time that I have attended San Jose State, I have been able to have knowledgable, helpful teachers who can relate to the topics their teach through their past real-life experiences. The teachers are always available to arrange meetings outside of class for extra help and further discussion of topics.
Do you enjoy the experience at your school?
San Jose State offers many extracurricular activities along with an extensive network of students, staff, and alumni. I have been able to stay consistently active in a fraternity, club, and on-campus job. Through those organizations, I have been able to meet people throughout many industries that have helped my professional development.
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
The cost of tuition highly reasonable compared to other public colleges and much more affordable compared to private colleges. For the most part, all of the teachers are highly knowledgable and approachable thus creating a great learning environment. The hands-on teaching styles are great being that it keeps the students active in the lessons being taught. The reason for a 4 of 5 is due to the high cost of living on campus. The cost of living on campus is easily two times the cost of tuition and is causes most of the financial hardship.

Highly suggest visiting each college of interest before accepting any offer. Meeting the students and staff on campus is a great way to see how the college experience will be at that campus. Also look for a college that will be able to develop more than just your academic portfolio.
Which types of students will excel at your college?
Students that are interested in startup companies and entrepreneurship will be at an advantage attending San Jose State University because of it is located in the heart of Silicon Valley. Due to the location, many opportunities arrise to meet and listen to speeches from top industry leaders. The Engineering and Business departments at San Jose State have a true advantage compared to other school due to the close work opportunities and hands-on courses.
