Review of Salisbury University

from NJ

Describe your college in three sentences.

Salisbury University is a beautiful campus located in a not-as beautiful city. Salisbury is a large city, so it is easier to do things outside of school with all the trolleys and busses that are free for students, or a car. Good balance between partying and studying.

Do you have any tips for prospective students?

We have some amazing faculty, but there are still some bad teaches so use rate my professor before signing up for classes. You can make friends for life by starting early and reaching out to people in your dorm, I lived with my roommates from freshman year to senior year. It's okay to change your major, talk to your advisors, they're readily available.

Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?

Some 100-level classes are just as hard as 300-level classes here, but there are still plenty of easy A courses and professors. The Honors College has challenging and rewarding classes.

Describe the dorm life at your college.

In some of the high rises it's hard to get to know people that aren't in your cluster or floor, the suite style rooms on the quad are amazing. The residential life staff here are good people.

Describe the food and dining at your college.

Commons might not be the best, but there's aways a lot of options to choose from. Hungry Minds is pretty good, and a Chik-fil-a is coming next semester.

What’s there to do for fun at your college?

Join a club or greek life! Being a part of a recognized club or organization on campus helps you make friends and be a part of so many fun activities and events. Student Activities puts on fun concerts, comedians, movies, and more. The bars downtown are always lit.

Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?

In-state tuition is good, but out of state is still expensive for me. You get a lot living on campus or in affiliated apartments, so it's worth the money.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Everyone loves to take pictures with our sammy statue, put fruits in the hands of our naked statues, or splash in the Fulton fountain.

Which types of students will excel at your college?

Laid back, studious, outgoing.

Are you involved in any clubs or activities?

All our clubs are fun and there are so many different areas of interest, check out the activities fair to see over 100 fun things to be a part of.

Are you involved in any clubs or activities?

Maybe 20% of students are in Greek life, it is not that big at Salisbury but they throw down and their events are pretty fun. Great way to make friends.

How would you describe campus safety? Do you feel safe on campus?

Campus police and security are friendly, we have a blue light system all over campus to call police and get an escort home. Saferide drives you home from parties over the weekend.
