Red Rocks is a great school. I am 26 years old and work full time, and Red Rocks made it really easy for me to go to school online. I loved all of the classes I took over the last two years and I would recommend every single one of my teachers. I felt that each teacher was passionate about teaching and was very active in engaging students, which I k ow is not always easy. I have found that when I am on a school break, I long to be back in school and I think that part of the reason for this is because Red Rocks is a great school. One more thing I would like to add that I particularly liked about RRCC is the small campus!!
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
When I started at RRCC, I hadnt been in school for over 7 years, and I really had no idea about what to do in order to pursue my new-found educational dreams. Now that I've made it through 2 years at RRCC, I would just like to exhort future students to get all of the information you can regarding your particular academic goals and financial needs. I got all oft school at RRCC paid for through various grants and scholarships. All I had to do was ask and put in some extra effort to apply!
Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?
I would say that Red Rocks is an excellent academic school. To be quite honest, I initially chose RRCC because it was not far from home and it is not as expensive as many other schools. I did not expect the education I received to be as challenging and thorough as it was. I can say that my expectations were far exceeded.
Describe the dorm life at your college.
There is no dorm life at RRCC!
Describe the food and dining at your college.
I did not eat at this school because I took all online classes ( I highly recommend this!). I must say, however, that when I did visit the school, the food looked and smelled delicious!
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
Great education at a really low rate. I was lucky to receive grants and scholarships for all of my schooling here, but if I had had to pay this would not have made a huge financial dent, which is really nice.
Which types of students will excel at your college?
Red Rocks offers a lot of great online classes, so it's perfect for anyone who works or who can't attend classes on campus for various different reasons. If I were a high school student planning to attend college, I would absolutely choose RRCC over any other school in the state, hands down. The most important reasons for this are the low costs and the fact that most high schoolers don't know exactly what they want for a career so it's a good idea to pay as little as possible while getting a great education.
How would you describe campus safety? Do you feel safe on campus?
I always felt safe when walking around campus. Every time I was there I saw at least one police officer, which is plenty for a school so small. The school is also in a generally decent area, where most of the neighborhoods are middle-class. Plus, the location is beautiful as it is lose to the mountains!
