The academic programs are great and the teachers really inspire student to absorb what they are teaching.
Do you enjoy the experience at your school?
The school has a problem with not guiding their students. There are great people working in the admissions office and councilors office but they just don't have enough time to truly help the students choose the correct classes for themselves. If students don't talk with one another about degree programs and the classes needed then they'll end up in a class they don't need or don't like.
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
The tuition of Pikes Peak is a decent price and financial aid really helps too. For my last semester which was 14 credit hours I paid 1600 plus books.
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
If you plan on going to this school make sure that you know what classes are needed for your degree. Talk to other students they can help you pick out good classes and great teachers. Do not underestimate the work load, even though it's a community college it's still college! Get your books before the first day of class and read a little. Also on the first day of class get yourself a study buddy, they will say your behind if you miss a class.
Which types of students will excel at your college?
This school is great for student that are just starting out and still do not know what they really want to do. Also this school is great for military students, students that have full time jobs, students with odd work hours, and student that would like to take online classes. Pikes peak is also wonderful for students that just want a certificate and not a degree.
