Go to ratemyprofessors.com. It's a great website to see what your teachers are like, before you even get to class. Having a teacher that fits your type of teaching will make your classes go a whole lot smoother.
Do you enjoy the experience at your school?
Try to get a lot of scholarships when you go to college. I spent a lot of my time working, because I had to pay for school. I didn't really get a chance to do any extracurricular activities. I didn't really make any new friends or get to really check out the school. I'm pretty sure I would have loved being on campus if I didn't always have to work the night shift. I remember one time I got free ice cream just for having my student id card.
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
Education is always worth your money. Just remember, it will pay off in the long run!
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
Try very hard not to work and go to school at the same time. If you decide on transferring into a program, the school is not going to look at how many hours you worked but at how your grades are. It's very important to have good grades. A lot of scholarships are based on your GPA. It would be shame to not enter a scholarship because your GPA does not qualify. Study hard all during the week, and have some fun on the weekends. Don't forget your long term goals if you decide to go to a junior college.
Which types of students will excel at your college?
I love school! I just wished I would have had more time to study. Scholarships really help. The worst that can happen is not getting awarded the money. Millions of dollars in scholarships are not awarded every year just because people didn't apply.
