Review of Northwood University

Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?

When I visited they said the professors had a one year contract and if they weren't performing well that they were gone. The school also has many varying options of degrees and classes to take that cover a wide variety of interests.

Describe the dorm life at your college.

Compared to other colleges, the rooms seemed larger and had a nice feel to them. They all have a bathroom that you will share with suite mates and everyone is in a close proximity giving the dorms a sense of community.

Describe the food and dining at your college.

The cafeteria looked amazing when I visited, the food smelled pleasant and my tour guide said the food got better every year. There were also many different options on where you could eat depending on the meal plan.

What’s there to do for fun at your college?

From what my tour guide stated there are many things to do for fun and even if you have a lot of classes you still get free time. There are many athletic events to attend and a gym on campus if you want to work out.

Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?

At first glance it seems a little high. Based only my GPA and ACT score I was offered $10,000 a year and that significantly brought it down to a reasonable price. During my visit I sat in a conference room and discussed other forms of financial aid and the school really wants to help each student as much as they can. They do not want the money to be the main factor for deciding not to attend.

Are you involved in any clubs or activities?

Being a full business school I didn't really think there would be many clubs or activities. Turns out there are a lot of clubs to join that do a number of different things on and off campus.

How would you describe campus safety? Do you feel safe on campus?

I saw campus police walking around while I was on my tour. One of the questions I asked was about theft and my tour guide said that there was none. Most people respect others personal items.
