Overview
Nicholls State University is a public institution with “selective” admissions located in the rural town of Thibodaux, Louisiana, 50 miles west of New Orleans. The institution is named after Francis Redding Tillou Nicholls, a brigadier general for the confederacy in the civil war, a two-time Louisiana governor, and chief justice to the Louisiana Supreme Court. In addition to its main campus, Nicholls State University also offers online degree programs and courses, as well as a partnership with Fletcher Technical Community College.

Nicholls offers different sports, activities, and clubs that are available for students to enjoy themselves and meet new people. The staff is respectful and extremely helpful, especially when you're lost. The professors are there to help you grow and get your money's worth. Fellow students are sometimes quiet, but almost always friendly.
