Mount Holyoke is a great school with great facilities. There is also a great 5 College consortium that allows you to further expand your depth of knowledge and connections with students/professors in your field. The small class sizes give students a greater opportunity to engage professors and try your hand at holding a discussion. There are many opportunities on-campus and off-campus to seek help in writing, public speaking, critical analysis etc. The work is tough but so rewarding!
Do you enjoy the experience at your school?
Overall a friendly, fun, interesting, and diverse group of women. When you need to get away, local transportation is completely free. Also not far from New York or Boston. Amtrak station is located in Amherst ( a free bus ride away) and Peter Pan bus line ticket sell right in the Village Commons, the local shopping center.
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
Education is definitely what you make it, but the opportunity to study at 4 acclaimed neighboring colleges and university, as well other study programs in the New England area, makes this education worthy of its asking price.
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
Visit the campus, talk to your college advisor, and apply!
Which types of students will excel at your college?
Many international, religious, LGBT, athletic, artistic women but you don't have to fit a type to fit in. Just be driven and be ready to work.
