Describe your college in three sentences.

Things were alright, but there was too much red tape. It took me forever to get things settled with finances, with my class scheduling for this past semester and for the spring semester, and with everything in general. Things would be much better if there were more efficient methods in place for these things.

Do you have any tips for prospective students?

Be sure to do whatever you can to cut through all of the red tape as soon as you possibly can. The sooner everything gets taken care of the less you have to worry about it and the less frustrating it is.

Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?

Some of the classes were much more difficult than others.

Describe the dorm life at your college.

I greatly enjoyed living in the dorms. I made new friends with my neighbors and others as well. It gave me the opportunity to be in a place where I was out on my own without being totally cut off from some of the comforts of home.

Describe the food and dining at your college.

The dining at Morehead is excellent. There are a lot of places to choose from and lots of different options. Any time you are having a craving you can almost guarantee that some place on campus has it and has it as a meal plan option.

What’s there to do for fun at your college?

The Rec Center was a HUGE improvement as far as recreation goes. There isn't much to do in Morehead and the addition of the Rec Center for students made my stay very enjoyable. It had a great many options for exercise as well as fun and places to go to clear your head.

Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?

I'm happy enough with my Morehead experience. It wasn't too expensive for me (so far) because of scholarships and other aid I'm receiving so I am getting a great education for very little money.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Eagle Lake was a great place to go for me as a student. It is easily accessible and provided a way to just get out of the city for a bit, to get away from the hustle and bustle of school and inundate myself with the sounds, smells, and sensations of being in nature.

Are you involved in any clubs or activities?

The Greek life on campus is incredible. I'm became friends with many individuals who are in sororities and fraternities on campus and was surprised to see just how big of an impact the organizations had on the individuals. My own personal favorite, though, was the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. The traditions that SigEp has adopted are strong and ongoing. It was humbling to see just how strong the bond between the boys in SigEp (as well as in the other Greek orgs.) was.
