marshall is great! lively football scene, great teachers and classes, and plenty of ways to get places around town. the marching band is awesome too!
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
join some clubs, but don't overwhelm yourself. it's really easy to get in over your head your first semester, like a lot of kids do, but ya gotta stick with it. go to your classes and ask for help if you need it.
Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?
it can be very hard, trust me. but the tutors are free, and teachers are always willing to help!
Describe the dorm life at your college.
the dorms are always pretty active and clean. the freshman dorms are the newest on campus, and arguably the nicest, especially if you like going to the rec center, which is like next door to the dorms.
Describe the food and dining at your college.
the cafe food (which you are probably gonna pay for if you get a meal plan anyway) is almost always really good, with a pretty wide selection for all kinds of lifestyles. kosher and halal included!
What’s there to do for fun at your college?
there's the huntington mall that's only a few miles away, there's also all kinds of sports to go watch, and as a student you get in for free. there's dozens (if not hundreds) of clubs for any and all kinds of activities and interests, and intramural sports teams, if you're into that as well.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
my favorite is the immediate response at football games for local cheers. if you shout "go herd!" in the parking lot, during the tailgate, you will absolutely get a response.
Are you involved in any clubs or activities?
five stars because there's just so many, and you can even talk to the council for the addition of your own!
How would you describe campus safety? Do you feel safe on campus?
marshall campus is pretty safe in its own right, plus there's plenty of booths around the campus that you can use to call security to that location.
