At LCC the opportunities and classes are great, I have learned alot of new information since beginning. My favorite class and most beneficial so far has been Effective Learning 115. This course taught me all sorts of different and new study habits and procrastination management. The other courses I have taken so far have been very informative so far.
Do you enjoy the experience at your school?
I enjoy attending LCC, it's not too large and very convenient that they have a satelite campus where I live, I live 25 miles from their main campus. Being a smaller community college it has a more intimate feel than a major university, all my professors so far still recognize me in the hallways and stop to say hi and catch up.
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
Like most community colleges, LCC is a great value for the price, at an average of right around $1300 per term, including books it feels like a great value. This price covers 4 classes.
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
For prospective students, I highly recomend the Effective Learning 115 course. It is a great introduction into study skill, time management, note taking and more. Just bear in mind that being a community college there will be alot of student straight out of high school that don't take their education seriously and can tend to be a distraction.
Which types of students will excel at your college?
LCC is great for older students, lower income students and students looking for simple 2 year AAS degrees.
