Lillian's Review

Review of Kutztown University of Pennsylvania

from Phillipsburg, NJ

In which ways do you feel you are learning and growing?

Since coming here in the Fall of 23, I have grown more confident in myself and learned to take all the opportunities I can. Getting involved in something you are interested in is the best thing I have done because it introduces me to like-minded people and allows me to explore my interests.

How are you enjoying your time at this college?

I enjoy walking around campus and interacting with the professors. Most of my professors in the English department have been good and helpful. The students are friendly and the employees are especially nice, especially the ladies at Book and Brew.

How would you describe the food and dining options?

The food selection is decent if you get the same thing every day. I only ever have the chicken nuggets and fries. But if you have allergies, contact dining before you commit with questions about food quality. South is good at giving options but Cub Cafe runs out of food quickly and has very limited options.

In your experience, what is there to do for fun at this college?

There are plenty of events on campus during the weekdays but the weekends are pretty much dead. Most students live close to campus and go home during the weekends.

In what clubs or organiziations have you participated and how have they impacted your overall experience?

I am a Professional Writing major in the Honors Program here. I am involved in Shoofly Literary Magazine, Archival Magazine, and Honors Club, and plan on writing for Keystone Newspaper. These have expanded my writing and analyzing skills and added to my experience in writing. I have met several new people through these clubs.

Are there any quirky or unique traditions that make your college special?

Every year, the university runs several events on campus such as Bearfest, Bearchella, and Family Day. This is a great opportunity to hang out with friends and connect with the community.
