Review of Hastings College

from Ewing, NE

Do you feel you’re learning a lot?

As a liberal arts school, Hastings requires you to take a wide variety of courses. Although these courses may not pertain to your intended major, they do allow for you to broaden your horizons as a student. The small student to teacher ratio allows for all students to get the help they need in classes to succeed.

Do you enjoy the experience at your school?

The small town environment is really welcoming to all new students. While there isn't alot to do in Hastings, the town of Grand Island is a short 20 minute drive!

Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?

Hastings is a fairly expensive school to attend, but they do provide every student with scholarship opportunities or work study.

Do you have any tips for prospective students?

Make sure to have a major in mind before you attend this school. I'm a biology major, and I know alot of my peers who had to quit this major after the first semester due to the rigorous course work. Find out what your major program requires and talk to professors/other students in this area to find out if it's the right major for you to take up!

Which types of students will excel at your college?

Alot of the students here are athletes. I'm one of those students, but there are alot of people here who don't participate in sports. The majority of the people who attend are from Nebraska and Colorado. This college is great for a student who likes the small town atmosphere and wants small class sizes.
