Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?
Classes are challenging, but professors are always willing to meet with you outside of class if you're having trouble with anything.
Describe the dorm life at your college.
The first-year dorms are pretty centrally located on campus, but that's about it. The rooms are alright, but it really depends on which dorm you're in--some halls are nicer than others. On the weekends, the halls get pretty loud due to a lot of partying, which I personally don't like. It really does depend on both what you can tolerate in terms of noise levels, as well as how considerate the other people in your residence halls are. The college doesn't offer a substance-free floor or dorm, only rooms. That's nice, but it's not so great when the rest of the people on the floor are partying and drinking all weekend.
Also, first-year students are not necessarily housed with people in their seminar--you're only in the same dorm. From what I had heard about the seminar program, I thought my roommate would be in my seminar, as well as the people in the rooms around me/on my floor. However, the people in my seminar were mostly on other floors throughout the building. Just a heads-up for people who think the same thing I did.
Describe the food and dining at your college.
The food at Servo is pretty good, even if it does get a bit repetitive after a while.
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
Pretty good, but I'm not sure I would think this if I was paying the full $55K a year. The classes are great, but the dorms are lacking. Upperclass dorms are (mostly) nicer than the first-year ones, so luckily that will change.
Are you involved in any clubs or activities?
The college offers many different clubs and activities.
Are you involved in any clubs or activities?
There is A LOT of partying on campus. Most people go out to the frats every weekend. A lot of students are involved in Greek Life as well.
How would you describe campus safety? Do you feel safe on campus?
The campus is really safe, and I feel fine walking around campus at night. It's a small school in a small town, with well-lit sidewalks and patrols throughout the night by DPS (the campus safety officers). It's the kind of school where you don't have to worry about things getting stolen, which is always nice.
