It's a perfect happy medium between the itty bitty- ness of Young Harris and the colossal UGA.
There is always something going on and all of it is something enriching.
The teachers are really what makes GCSU stand out; you can ask any one: these guys are phenomenal!!!
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
The Village is a great place to live, it is the perfect balance of apartment living with all the safety of the dorms. It doesn't have those meetings every five minutes which is fantastic too.
Blackbird Coffee is a great hangout.
Go see a show! The theatre department is an intimate but fantastically talented group of students and the plays are professional quality.
Buy your books early and not at the bookstore, they can get pricey.
Milledgeville is a beautiful historic town, take advantage of some of the great sites like the Governor's Mansion or the Green Way.
Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?
I feel challenged in my classes but not to the point where I feel overwhelmed.
Describe the dorm life at your college.
Dorm life isn't for everyone, but there are a lot of great options. If you like to have your own space, I highly recommend the Village.
Describe the food and dining at your college.
There are a lot of great options for food if you're not really feeling the cafeteria, like Chick Fil A and Subway. And Downtown is within walking distance with a Barberitos right there and a couple of Asian restaurants. Eating at the Brick is a religious experience, even if the service isn't great at times.
What’s there to do for fun at your college?
Like I said downtown is right there off campus, and there seems to be always something to do through the school
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
It's pricey, but financial aid has got you covered, and the experience alone is so worth it.
Which types of students will excel at your college?
The hardworking, fun loving positive student
Are you involved in any clubs or activities?
There are a lot of opportunities to get involved on campus, the only reason I am giving it four stars instead of five is because I have two jobs and have been unable to take advantage of those opportunities.
Are you involved in any clubs or activities?
They are not obnoxious, they are there, but its not in your face and problematic.
How would you describe campus safety? Do you feel safe on campus?
Number 1 in Campus Safety in the state of Georgia and with good reason, those guys are on point.
