Fontbonne University is a small campus with a close, tight-knit community. I love the University because I really get to know my professors and classmates, and the small class sizes allows for more discussion. Through academics and extracurriculars, I feel confident in entering the work force after graduation.
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
Talk to the professors in the department you are interested in and ask the students any question you have. The faculty and staff along with the students are more than willing to help you, and would love to answer any questions you may have.
Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?
My classes have greatly challenged me to think in new and different ways. I love the courses I am in, and being able to take classes outside my major. The professors are also more than willing to meet with you if a class becomes too challenging.
Describe the dorm life at your college.
While the rooms are a bit dated, the dorms quickly become your home away from home. Through the community and open doors, you are able to build friendships quickly. The Residential Life staff are also great to work with should a problem ever arise!
Describe the food and dining at your college.
There are two dining halls on campus that offer a wide range of food.
What’s there to do for fun at your college?
Get involved! Organizations on campus offer plenty of fun events to attend. Also, the Loop is not too far away or you can go downtown.
Are you involved in any clubs or activities?
Being involved on campus is one of the best things I have done. There are so many organizations to join, and something for everyone. Step outside of your comfort zone, and try something new too! It is a great way to meet new friends and also obtain possible leadership positions in the future!
How would you describe campus safety? Do you feel safe on campus?
The Department of Public Safety has amazing officers on staff! They interact with the students, and make us feel safe and comfortable on campus.
