Im majoring in Marine Biology and Ecology. I love how the labs are hands on. Almost every biology lab has one or more research projects that you work on for the semester. It teaches you how to design, conduct, and present research. This skills are essential for any scientists and Florida Tech does a great job in preparing you.
Do you enjoy the experience at your school?
The school is great. Its super easy to walk around and there is even an app you can download to you phone that has a map and list of buildings (very helpful if your new). All the professors are very helpful and its easy to talk directly with them if you need to. The area of Melbourne is quiet, but the downtown area is nice, and there is always the beach! Plus Orlando is just an hour away.
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
It is very expensive to go here, but if there is always scholarships and financial aid. Florida Tech hands out a lot of money to good students.
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
Get the meal plan with the most flex cash!! You will thank me later. Also live in Columbia Village Freshman year. Roberts is community style, and while its cool for a little while..... its definitely worth it in the long run to have your own room
