Review of Florida State University

Do you feel you’re learning a lot?

Whether you take classes taught by professors or graduate students you are guaranteed to expand your knowledge immensely! Every person on our faculty is incredibly knowledgeable and a great resource for students. I have learned something new everyday that I have been here, whether it was directly from my teachers or something that spawned from their class discussions and other student participation.

Do you enjoy the experience at your school?

There is never a dull moment here at FSU! On any given day you can take a walk around campus and find something going on such as Market Wednesdays or student organizations promoting themselves with free food and games. Club Down Under holds many events (most free or under $10 w/ student ID!) too. If you're looking for some off campus fun the FSU Reservation is free for students and has activities such as rock climbing, volleyball, and kayaking or you can stop by one of the many apartment complexes that hold pool parties on a regular basis. Also, the nightlife here is top of the line and it's CHEAP!!; There are incredible specials to be found every night at the students' favorite hot spots.

Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?

The change in Bright Futures policies is going to effect all recipients. FSU faculty gives their all to students who make the effort for themselves to make sure that they will pass classes and not be forced to drop and repay fees because of poor grades. Another GREAT perk is that there are so many things included in tuition. Free on and off campus transportation (certain areas), access to a state of the art gymnasium, FSU reservation, and many other discounted items are available to students all by simply flashing their FSU ID card.

Do you have any tips for prospective students?

I cannot stress the importance of keeping up with your classes enough!! Even if you didn't have to try in high school, you are going to have to put in some effort here. FSU offers a great class about time management and adjusting to campus life that I highly recommend. Going to see you professors at their office hours is also a great way to ensure success. On a more social note, FSU is such a large campus that I suggest everyone GET INVOLVED!!!!! FSU offers such a huge variety of things to try so whether you join SGA, Greek Life, Sports Intramurals, Religious Organizations, Major-Specific Organizations, or something as simple as an Ultimate Frisbee team, don't be afraid to get out there and try something..... then get ready to start the best four years of your life!!!

Which types of students will excel at your college?

FSU has majors and activites for EVERYONE, so no matter what your race, religion, or interests, I guarantee that there is something that will peak your interests!!!
