I am currently in my second year at The Florida State University and couldn't be happier. All of my teachers and teacher assistants have been nothing but helpful in every aspect of my education. The professors are always accessible, no matter how big a class you are enrolled in. I have enjoyed the subject matter in the majority of my required classes as well.
Do you enjoy the experience at your school?
I absolutely love going to school here. Tallahassee is truly my home now. The campus is beautiful and very traditional. Our campus is not very spread out, so it is extremely easy to get from one side of campus to another without much trouble. I am also a member of Greek Life here, and that has opened a huge world of possibilities to me. All of my sisters are so involved and smart, which encourages me to be the best student and person that I can be.
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
FSU is definitely a bang for your buck. Many out of state students come to FSU because the out-of-state tuition is cheaper than the in-state tuition is in many states. All of the sporting events are included in tuition, so you don't have to worry about paying for a football or basketball ticket every time you want to go to a game. You just provide your student I.D and you get in free! Also, the cost of living up here isn't too horrible. There are a bunch of restaurants that are student friendly, and delicious too.
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
Start taking your ACT and SAT at the beginning of your junior year. Keep taking them until you get a score high enough to get a 100% Bright Futures scholarship. Get involved within your high school and community, and write an awesome essay. FSU loves diverse students, so get out there and get experience working with lots of different types of people.
Which types of students will excel at your college?
Anyone who is looking for a university with a lot of tradition and a very friendly student population. Get involved, and you will see just how amazing FSU truly is.
