Review of El Camino Community College District

from L.A. County

Do you feel you’re learning a lot?

Most teachers here do a great job at teaching their subjects with the exception of a few of them. They have a great class selection to choose from so there's always something new to learn each semester.

Do you enjoy the experience at your school?

The atmosphere is pretty friendly and there are not too many critical problems going on in the school.

Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?

I'm paying out of state tuition right now, but the normal $26 per unit is a very good deal compared to other state community colleges. For anyone wanting to gain a higher education, this is a good deal.

Do you have any tips for prospective students?

1. Register early! Classes are filling up fast now since the economy went under, especially in the state of California itself. 2. Make sure to meet with a counselor as soon as possible so you can have your education goal and the classes you need for it put in place. 3. Show up for the first day of class otherwise you will be dropped. This school has a strict attendance policy where you can only miss up to three unexcused absences.

Which types of students will excel at your college?

If you think the cost of a 4-year university is expensive and you want to save money on gaining a general 2-year education, then ECC is the place for you.
