Edinboro University is a wonderful campus that feels like home with friendly staff and well maintained facilities. Higher education is valued very high here and the Nursing program is one of the best. I am proud to be affiliated with this University.
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
College is nothing like high school!
Visit every school you have in mind and ask a lot of questions!!!
Study as hard as you can and read the syllabus for every class very carefully!
Meet friends in your major and create study groups and have a study night once a week. It will help tremendously when it comes for test time, there will be less cramming.
Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?
Being a Nursing student is not easy. The classes are hard yet fun. It is nice to have an Anatomy and Chemistry background coming into the program. A lot of studying is required!!!
Describe the dorm life at your college.
I currently live in the Highlands which is apartment style housing. It is very nice and clean and I feel at home. There are a variety of different options within the Highlands. One can have their own room with three other suite mates and a shared bathroom for the whole suite. One can have their own bedroom with a common area, kitchenette, and two bathrooms. Another option is to share a bedroom and bathroom with one other person. One can even have their own separate room and suite. The staff is very friendly and there has not been any problems here! Everything is close to the Highlands so they are located nicely. Edinboro also offers a more traditional type of housing. These dorms accommodate to all types of students, even ones with special needs and in wheel chairs.
There is plenty to do for fun here in Edinboro. Football games as well as various other sporting events are always roaring here on campus. The University is constantly hosting events for students, showing movies in the student center, and having chances to go on outings. Edinboro is only a short way from Erie so with a car one is minutes away from a plethora of restaurants, stores, and other things that Erie has to offer.
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
Edinboro is a great option for a Pennsylvania resident. You get the great education with multiple opportunities and majors to chose from. Tuition is comparable to most other schools and with the great housing options and even the option to commute one is really getting what they pay for here at Edinboro.
How would you describe campus safety? Do you feel safe on campus?
With a police station right on campus one will feel incredibly safe here. The police are constantly patrolling around campus looking out for any danger. Also there are emergency locations that one can go to contact the police and get help. These are marked by blue lights and are located by Highlands and spread through out campus.

Edinboro University offers a variety of dining options. The in house dining facility Van Houtton offers a consistent menu as well as specials in a buffet style manner. In the student center there are many options depending on your craving. In the student center there is W.O.W which stands for World of Wings. W.O.W offers things such as wings, French fries, sandwiches, and even quesadillas! Also in the student center is chopped and wrapped which offers a variety of salads and wraps and also has a soup of the day. New is the student center is a sushi café Bleu which offers sushi and some other Chinese cuisine. There are many more options too many to list! But I give the dining a thumbs up for always fulfilling my cravings!
