I have learned so much in this past term, and I'm getting way better grades than I ever thought I would get in college! I also went from struggling at the beginning of term, to succeeding as one of the highest students on my finals. I'm really proud of myself.
Do you enjoy the experience at your school?
I absolutely love Eastern Oregon University. I'm so glad that I went to this school instead of the one other that I was considering. I get lots of 1-1 attention from the teachers, I have found lots of friends and places to meet them, the music programs are great and the campus is beautiful. I don't like leaving La Grande to go home for visits anymore. It's my home now.
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
Eastern Oregon is rather cheep compared to other colleges, especially for how much student teacher help you can get on an individual level. I'm surprised that it's not more per term than it is when it's so hard for students to not do great since there's always someone to help. Eastern is defiantly a place to go to succeed and also not go bankrupt.
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
Don't go to Eastern if you want to just fall into the background and not be noticed or a part of anything. At EOU, there's something for everyone and its super hard to be a part of nothing. Also, go to Wal-Mart or Bi-Mart or some other place for items like Cereal, DON'T buy them from the school, they hose you big time.
Which types of students will excel at your college?
EOU is great for students who like to show up for class, work hard, excel in difficult subjects and grow as a person. There is SO MUCH 1-1 student and professor time that it really helps you learn. I haven't had a single TA or heard of them (there may be some and I just don't know about them) at EOU. So you learn right from your professor, and that is just fantastic.
