The instant my feet touched the EOU campus, I felt like I was at home. The size of the campus is just right, and so is the estimated size of the student body population. I know, that EOU is the right college choice for me.
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
If you are looking for a college that isn't exactly small yet not exactly huge either, then EOU is the college campus that would suite you. But don't just chose a college based on the campus size. Chose a college that has what you are looking for. Go with your gut and with your heart.
Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?
The thing I like most about EOU, just from taking a quick tour, is that they are connected with other University's in Oregon. So if someone feels at home at EOU but their major isn't offered, EOU is connected with a different University that does have their major. They can still take the classes required for their major at EOU but they get their degree through the other University.
Describe the dorm life at your college.
The dorms are so nice that it feels like you are living in a two room apartment with four beds instead of a single room with one other person for company. The rooms are spacious and there is enough room for two people in one of the rooms and then some. In all, the dorms are AMAZING!
Describe the food and dining at your college.
I, personally, haven't had a chance to try the food they provide on campus but I have heard that their food is better than middle school or high school food. Plus, if someone doesn't want to eat on the campus, there are multiple restaurants close to the campus that they could go to instead. That way every one is happy.
What’s there to do for fun at your college?
There is so many things to do for fun. The University has outdoor clubs and all kids of things for the students to do. How can someone not spend some time just walking around the University itself and not notice the nature that surrounds the campus. During the winter months, students can go snowshoeing, snowboarding, and skiing. And thats only in the winter months. But there is fun to be had all year round.
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
Out of all the colleges' I have looked at in my search to find the Right college that fits me, I found that EOU has one of the lowest tuition rates in the state of Oregon. At only about $21,096 a year, I could still find ways to have fun. Whereas some of the other college tuition rates were way above that of EOU. EOU is the number one University in my book that really caught my eye, my heart, and the heart of my check book.
Which types of students will excel at your college?
Eastern Oregon University is great for those kinds of students who like getting help from their professors. For those who don't like having a large campus to traverse from one class to the next. And it's great for those student who enjoy being in nature.
How would you describe campus safety? Do you feel safe on campus?
Campus is super safe. That's because its right next to the Sheriffs Department. So don't worry about anything bad happening on campus because the police are at least less than ten minutes away. Possibly even less than five minutes away. Cool, huh?
