Covenant College is a wonderful institution! I am a freshman there right now and I absolutely love it! I would recommend Covenant to any prospective student!
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
I recommend that you dive in to everything. In my first semester, I kept thinking that I had to wait to become involved, but I still had this thinking in November and I realized I missed being apart of so much because I felt like it was to early to be involved.
Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?
The academics are quite rigorous. Be prepared to work as hard as you can and still get a B. You really work hard for the grades you get an if you get a B, be proud of that B!
Describe the dorm life at your college.
The dorm life is the best! I live in Founders (I will not say what hall) and I absolutely love it! My hall is so close and each and every hall has their own traditions. The RAs do not make you be involved if you do not want to, but I highly recommend that you do! Hall life is a fundamental part of the Covenant experience!
Describe the food and dining at your college.
The food is not the best, especially on the weekends. Yet they do have a bit of variety. You can always get a sandwich and pizza if you do not like what they are serving. However, the Great Hall is beautiful and it is so much fun to sit with friends and enjoy the meal.
What’s there to do for fun at your college?
The school is on a mountain, so you need a car or a friend with a car if you want to get down, however there are a lot of clubs and events scattered throughout the semester so when you are not doing homework, there are always something to do! Rock City, Ruby Falls, and a lot of other tourist type stuff are on the mountain that everyone should do at least once. Chattanooga has a lot of good food and activities. Mr. T's is a pizza place down the mountain and it is the BEST! You will not be bored!
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
The school is expensive but they have amazing financial aid. The professors are personal and want to get to know you. The relationships are rich.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
The school has a lot of traditions. Different dorm buildings will put on a walk through experience where the halls decorate the halls to a particular theme (Around Founders is the best!). Mac and Founders have Mac Movie and Founders Music Video where the different halls film videos that the whole campus enjoys watching. There are dancing and we have the Highland Games because WE ARE THE SCOTS! There is a lot of traditions that I cannot possibly cover them all.
Which types of students will excel at your college?
I think students who want a small school will flourish. You need to be academically minded to succeed. Yet any person if they want to do well, will do well. The sports are great here so athletes are welcome!
Are you involved in any clubs or activities?
The activites are amazing! I cannot say much about clubs because my semester was so busy I could not really participate in clubs this semester, but i cannot wait to get more involved next yer!
How would you describe campus safety? Do you feel safe on campus?
The campus is fairly safe. The security officers are nice and they are constantly looking out for our safety, but the school is safe. We just got a new head of security who worked for the secret service. Safety of the students are priority.
