Review of Columbia Basin College

from Kennewick, WA

Describe your college in three sentences.

CBC is an under rated college that provides an excellent education with incredible professors, challenging curriculum and the resources to succeed! Aside from the superb education, it is also EXTREMELY affordable. An all around smart experience literally and figuratively.

Do you have any tips for prospective students?

Meet with a counselor to chart out your path at CBC. While you in the office also ask how you can obtain financial aid and scholarships. If you come across any trouble or are confused go to your professor, the resource center or a lab to seek additional help.

Describe the food and dining at your college.

The Hub has a Starbucks and kitchen inside that serves some of the best food with countless options to fit all budgets. I personally recommend the grilled chicken sandwich with bacon on a whole wheat bun and lettuce with tater tots on the side and extra mayo...YUM!

What’s there to do for fun at your college?

Tour the Tri-City area. We are famous for our wine country, sunsets and parks! You are also only a few short hours away from a beach, Seattle, Portland and several other popular places.

Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?

Very inexpensive compared to university tuition fees with the same education.

Which types of students will excel at your college?

Anyone! CBC students are people of all ages, personalities, ethnicities and walks of life.

Are you involved in any clubs or activities?

If you are interested there are numerous ways to get involved around campus. I personally have only taken part in a Red Cross blood drive but I see active campaigns, clubs and student involvement opportunities on a daily basis.

Are you involved in any clubs or activities?

We don't have any greek opportunities.

How would you describe campus safety? Do you feel safe on campus?

There are emergency buttons all over campus, several students walking around at all times and numerous security officers walking around during class and office hours to ensure safety and rule enforcement.
