Review of Collin County Community College District
from Carrollton, TX
Do you feel you’re learning a lot?
Great school! That's the first thing I have to say about my impression. Collin County Community College provides many tools to drive students to succeed. The professors are very helpful and always willing to communicate with the students at all time. My first semester experience was overwhelmed. It is my first year attending college and I had to get used to being in a routine of class work. Therefore, I made a couple mistakes of when and how to turn in some assignments. My English teacher was very sweet, generous and did not hesitate for any questions we had. She took the time to meet up with me for the mistake I have made not turning in work appropriately. I appreciated her kindness to help me achieve the goal. The lessons are short and understandable, always to the point of what was being taught and we enjoyed being in class ninety nine percent. It was such an eye opener coming from high school to college.
Do you enjoy the experience at your school?
Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. My first classmate in Psychology class was respectful and willing to work with anyone else in the group. We had a group report of 7 pages. Each of us had to complete our parts we agreed on and it went very smooth. I had no problems with anyone I have met so far. I feel very comfortable being at school nights I have my classes. Safety issue is moderate.
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
The college tuition is VERY affordable. Also, the school is very helpful and on speed at everything including admission, financial aid and registration. Classes are very flexible with anyone who either have a full time job such as me or families, even someone who is active in an academic program.
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
I'm very happy as a current student. My classes are enjoyable and easy to comprehend. Home works are moderate and the professors always make sure to remind their students not to forget. The school always make you feel very welcomed and classmates are nice. Great choice!
Which types of students will excel at your college?
GED students or anyone who did not get a chance to graduate high school. Also Collin County offer many programs to complete without getting your Associate or Bachelor, also directly partnership with UTD or UNT if any student wants to transfer to a university after 2 years.
