Review of Collin County Community College District

from Frisco, TX

Describe your college in three sentences.

Not what I expected from a community college. The course load is rigorous enough to prepare for a transfer to a larger university, and the professors are very knowledgeable. I am very satisfied with this college.

Do you have any tips for prospective students?

Work hard, take class seriously, and you will succeed at Collin College. There are countless opportunities and recourses to take advantage of, such as a math and writing lab, large library, as well as very helpful and insightful advisors.

Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?

Very reasonable work load.

Describe the dorm life at your college.

Well, there aren't any dorms at this school and I live at home so... Not sure what to write here.

Describe the food and dining at your college.

There are a few vending machines around campus, and the Cougar Store is well stocked. Just wish there were more healthy choices.

Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?

I live in-county, and my tuition for full-time was only around $500 a semester. Extremely well priced.

Which types of students will excel at your college?

Great for students unsure of what to study before transferring to a larger university where more is at stake.

How would you describe campus safety? Do you feel safe on campus?

The Cougar Police are very friendly, and will even escort you to your car after a night class if for some reason you feel unsafe.
