Capitol College, or now known as Capitol Technology University, is a small knit community. Every student says hi to their professors and the professors know every student's name, even if the student isn't taking their class. There is a very strong emphasis on STEM type of career with their majors.
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
Always, always, always talk to your professor during office hours, and meet with your advisor weekly, they got that job for a reason so use them!
Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?
The professors are nice people, but they will hold each student to a high standard. Each professor has had some sort of work experience in the class they are teaching, and have real world experience to know which things are needed to be known and which information to not include.
Describe the dorm life at your college.
Pros: very own kitchen and a nice living room area Dorm room is a nice size Big floor freezer Responsive custodians
Cons: one bathroom to share with 8 people
Update: new dorms are coming sometime in 2016
Describe the food and dining at your college.
There is no dedicated meal plan but there is a cafe, the food there is pretty good, but they are at college prices so beware if you are low on funds
What’s there to do for fun at your college?
There is a wide open grass field for football or ultimate Frisbee, nice walking path or biking path. Hanging out in the student lounge in the main building, watching stars at night.
Which types of students will excel at your college?
Very good for Nerds and Geeks of any variety. There is a fandom for everyone here, you'll never feel like you are alone in the things you like
