Review of Baker University

Describe your college in three sentences.

Baker is amazing. Everyone is nice and helpful. The teachers are especially amazing because you can definitely tell that they are there for the students.

Do you have any tips for prospective students?

Make sure you bring headphones to drown out noise if your neighbors are noisy. Make sure you do your homework!

Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?

I have homework every night, but for the most part it is a lot of reading. You definitely have to be prepared for homework here.

Describe the dorm life at your college.

The dorms are great. The only drawback is when people are loud at night when you need to get homework done or need to get to sleep early.

Describe the food and dining at your college.

Food is pretty good. There is normally something for everyone, but ocassionally there might be a time when the food isn't very good.

What’s there to do for fun at your college?

There isn't much in Baldwin City, so people mostly go to Lawrence which has basically whatever you need.

Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?

It is definitely expensive. Anyone can tell you that, but it is so worth it and once you're here, you understand why it is so expensive.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

There are lots of traditions on campus. There is a photo for incoming students and a walk through of their gate on campus, which is the same gate that you walk back through when you graduate. There is also convocation every year, where the president speaks.

Which types of students will excel at your college?

It is great if you like small communities and a close-knit group of people. The classes are also pretty small.

Are you involved in any clubs or activities?

There is just about a club for everyone, and if a club isn't for you, it is really easy to create a new one. There are also sports.

Are you involved in any clubs or activities?

Almost 80% of people at Baker are involved in Greek Life. I am not a part of it because I do not have the time for it.

How would you describe campus safety? Do you feel safe on campus?

Campus is really small and safety is not a big concern on campus. Campus is generally a really safe place to be at.
