Asbury is a great small Christian University with a great community. The tuition seems high, but they work well to give scholarships. Asbury has lots of fun extra-curricular activities and a great sports and music program.
Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?
Asbury has very good academics. The teachers are willing to help you if you ask them for help and there are also tutors available to help which is included in tuition.
Describe the dorm life at your college.
I love spending time with the girls in my hall! Especially in Glide-Crawford, the dorm life is great!
Describe the food and dining at your college.
The cafiteria is pretty much in the center of campus and the food is quite good. I like their salad bar and the make-your-own-stir-fry bar. On the weekends, however, the food is not quite as good. But you can always make yourself a wrap or have cereal!
What’s there to do for fun at your college?
Go on a hike on the Asbury trails, play spikeball, volleyball, Frisbee, etc on the green. Attend a worship night. Go on a trail ride at the barn. Join an intramural team. Drive into Lexington to grab a bite to eat or go to the mall. Set up a hammock on the green. Go rope swinging or canoeing.
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
I find the tuition a little steep, but scholarships help.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
There's the campus cat who likes to wander around. Annual TV drop from the boy's dorm. The last survivor game that is basically schoolwide human vs zombies with nurf guns (if you want to participate).
Which types of students will excel at your college?
Those who enjoy a tight community where you see many of your same friends in various classes. Those who want to develop a closer relationship with God. Equine, Media Communications, Christian Ministries, Outdoor Leadership.
Are you involved in any clubs or activities?
No Greek life really.
