Arkansas State University is a well rounded college for those who seek a start in their career. It can be the beginning of a long and wonderful education, and it can serve as the end of ones educational goals all at the same time. Whether you're looking to start your road on earning a masters degree, or just looking to get your bachelors, ASU is the school of choice.
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
The best advice I can give is to always try your hardest. Do not let your friends tell you that you are wasting your time by going that extra mile. In college and in life that extra mile will go a long way. Do your best on every assignment, apply for all the financial aid you can, and practice whatever it is you are studying outside of class in your spare time. If you can do this, then I believe you have what it takes to succeed.
Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?
The classes are only as difficult as you make them. Some professors are more demanding then others, but in the long run it all boils down to how much work you are willing to put into it.
Describe the dorm life at your college.
Dorm life is alright, aside from the freshmen housing. You are typically paired with a complete stranger if you are going in alone, and most of the time they are disagreeable. Not to mention the freshmen dorms are squalid at best. But if you can make it through that, the upperclassmen housing it is well worth going through the struggle.
Describe the food and dining at your college.
The cafeteria offers a wide selection of food. It is very good and you can eat all you want for the entire semester. Aside from the cafeteria, there are several on campus restaurants that students may choose from if fast food is more your speed. All in all, an A plus!
What’s there to do for fun at your college?
There are various groups one may join and several fraternities if that is what you're in to. There is also an on campus gym, and there is almost always some type of event going on that one can attend. The trick is to just look at the various fliers and make an attempt to go.
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
With the cheaper tuition, you certainly get a lot for what you pay for.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
I could do that, but the fun part is finding them out for yourself.
Which types of students will excel at your college?
It's literally a melting pot. It is great for all students so long as you get out and look for whatever it is you seek.
Are you involved in any clubs or activities?
As I have stated, there are various clubs and activities that are held from time to time. You just have to keep your eyes open to find them.
Are you involved in any clubs or activities?
I'm not much of a frat person, but from what I can tell their are various fraternities and everyone seems to enjoy being in them.
How would you describe campus safety? Do you feel safe on campus?
There have been various instances that have happened around the campus, but with each one a new attempt is made to ensure that it does not repeat itself. All in all, security and safety is good, but not 100% guaranteed.
