Victoria S. And Bradley L. Geist Foundation
Hawaii Community Foundation
This scholarship is for Hawai'i residents who have been placed in foster care within the state of Hawai'i. Non-US citizens are not eligible. Verification is required. Youth who have been legally adopted or reunited with their birth families before the age of fourteen (14) are not eligible for support under this program. Applicants must plan to enroll at least half-time at a two or four-year college, university, or vocational school.
To verify foster care placement, submit a letter from a Department of Human Services case worker verifying your past and/or present placement in foster care within the State of Hawaii. The letter from your case worker should specifically document that:
1) you are or were in the foster care system in Hawaii.
2) you were not adopted or permanently reunited with your birth parents prior to your 14th birthday. A statement from your case worker that you either did or will "age out" of foster care is sufficient for this purpose if it applies to your case.
