Troy Barboza Educational Fund Scholarship

Hawaii Community Foundation

The Troy Barboza Education Fund was created in 1991 in the memory of Troy Barboza, a police officer who was killed in the line of duty. This fund was established to provide education and training assistance in the form of scholarship grants for public employees (and their dependents) that have been killed or injured in the line of duty. The public employee must be in a position where lives are risked for the protection of others (i.e. police officers, fire fighters, life guards, etc.). Additionally, funds may be used for Hawaii residents who have performed heroic or other noteworthy acts that provide for the protection and safety of others. Eligible applicants must complete the Troy Barboza Educational Fund Scholarship essay. Preference is given for past recipients.
