This scholarship is for a graduating senior who is a Botetourt County resident, who plans to pursue a degree and/or career as a First Responder (a person with specialized training who is among the first to arrive and provide assistance at the scene of an emergency such as an accident, natural disaster, or terrorist attack), Fire Management, Fire Sciences, Fire Protection Engineering, Fire Service Leadership, Emergency Management, Emergency Medical Services, Criminal Justice, or other related fields. Applicant must demonstrate a commitment to community service/volunteerism as evidence by a resume and show academic/other merit indicating the capability of satisfactorily completing college-level studies.
