This scholarship is for full-time students who have a family member who currently or previously worked in the coal industry in southern West Virginia. The family member must have worked for a company engaged in the mining and processing of coal and located in one of the following West Virginia counties: Boone, Braxton, Cabell, Calhoun, Clay, Fayette, Greenbrier, Jackson, Kanawha, Lincoln, Logan, Mason, McDowell, Mercer, Mingo, Monroe, Nicholas, Pocahontas, Putnam, Raleigh, Randolph, Roane, Summers, Wayne, Webster, or Wyoming.
