Patricia Mazeau and Myrtie Gareau Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Steve Mazeau in memory of his mother, Patricia Mazeau, and his grandmother, Myrtie Gareau. The purpose is to provide a scholarship for a graduating senior who, like his mother, was raised by a single parent. Myrtie Gareau, a single parent, raised her three children during the difficult economic times of the late 1930s and 1940s. A special bond was formed between them despite the hardships they had to endure. This scholarship recognizes present-day single-parent families, their sacrifices, and their determination. The candidate must be a child of a single parent and demonstrate financial need.
