Ohio Newspaper Women’s Association Annual Scholarship

“ONWA” stands for the Ohio Newspaper Women’s Association. After the ONWA disbanded, the group graciously donated the group’s assets to the Ohio News Media Foundation to continue a scholarship endowed by Ruth Neely France, one of Cincinnati’s first female journalists and certainly one of the most courageous and colorful reporters of the early 20th Century.

The Ohio News Media Foundation will award a scholarship to a male or female student currently enrolled as a junior or senior in an Ohio college or university and majoring in a field relevant to our industry, particularly journalism, advertising, marketing, or communications degree program.
