Mr. Howard Okada was a retired Army Officer and long-time resident of Hawaii who, after moving here with his family, established a solid network of friends. The scholarship was established to honor his legacy in his adopted home and as a way for the donor to express her gratitude to her parents, who enabled her to receive her education, by giving back to the community.
