Follensbee Scholarship

Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) Sacramento

This scholarship is for graduating high school seniors and college freshman from the Sacramento area in California, who will be attending college in the fall. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must identify at lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, or intersex (LGBTQI). Applicants must have applied to or be presently enrolled in an accredited institution of higher education in pursuit of a bachelor's degree (from their current college or through planned transfer from a community college). Applicants must have a minimum high school 2.5 GPA and demonstrate an interest in service to the LGBTQI community. To apply for this scholarship, applicants must include two letters of recommendation that testify to their LGBTQI status and community involvement; and submit an essay on the topic, "My vision for the LGBTQI Community."
