EngineerGirl Essay Contest

National Academy of Engineering

Every year, the EngineerGirl website sponsors a contest dealing with engineering and its impact on our world. The topic and detailed instructions for the contest are posted in the fall with a deadline for submissions early the following year. Winners are announced in the spring.

To apply, applicants must write an original essay on a given topic related to engineering. Essays will be judged on the basis of content, research, expression, and originality. This contest is open to students from countries outside the United States; however, students must make an effort to be sure they enter in the appropriate grade category, and all essays will be held to the same standards, even if the student is not a native English speaker.
