Edward Weldon Scholarship
Society of Georgia ArchivistsThe Edward Weldon Scholarship will provide the registration fee for an SGA member to attend the Society of American Archivists (SAA) annual meeting. The Edward Weldon Scholarship was established in 2000 to recognize Ed’s leadership in furthering the preservation and access of Georgia’s historical records. He was instrumental in helping to establish the Society of Georgia Archivists and served as its first President. Directing the activities of the Georgia Department of Archives and History from 1982-2000, Ed served as the 37th President of the Society of American Archivists. He was also the moving force behind the establishment of the Georgia Historical Records Advisory Board (now the Georgia Historical Records Advisory Council), providing grants which have contributed to the advancement of many worthy initiatives.
