Edgar S. Welborn Union Pines Scholarship

This scholarship is for seniors graduating from Union Pines High School in Moore County, North Carolina. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be residents of Carthage, or have a legal address with a Carthage zip code. Applicants must demonstrate academic achievement, financial need, and extensive participation in both school and outside interest. Applicants must be have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Applicants must attend a college or university in North Carolina leading to a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree. Applicants must write an essay on their reaction to the biographical sketches of Mr. and Mrs. Welborn. Scholarships will be awarded based on respective ability, educational goals, financial need, and career ambitions.
