Dorothy and Dick Burgess Scholarship
Jackson Community Foundation
This scholarship is for graduating high school seniors who are attending a high school in Jackson County, Michigan, or who live in Jackson County, Michigan. Home-schooled students are also encouraged to apply. This scholarship is for previous recipients only. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be accepted into or currently attending an accredited college or university program or vocational/technical institute. Applicants must demonstrate financial need, have a 3.0 GPA, and demonstrate good citizenship, high moral character, and potential for leadership and academic success. They must also plan to pursue a course of study that leads to a degree in earth science, engineering, pre-med, or Christian ministry and plan to complete a bachelor's degree within four consecutive years. Applicants must provide proof of acceptance to a smaller, accredited Michigan two- or four-year college/university. (A smaller public Michigan college is defined as a two- or four-year college/university whose annual yearly tuition costs do not exceed $17,000.) An interview may be requested.
