Diverse Minds Writing Challenge - Delaware/Delmarva Peninsula

This contest is for high school students enrolled in regional public, private, charter, or independent schools in the State of Delaware or the following Maryland counties: Harford, Caroline, Dorchester, Cecil, Wicomico, Worcester, Somerset, Kent, Talbot, or Queen Anne's County in Maryland. Applicants must have not previously published an original manuscript for profit. To enter, applicants must write and illustrate a book and submit a manuscripthat teaches elementary-aged children about how tolerance and diversity can improve our world. Submissions should provide a story that children can relate to and promote a greater understanding of different cultures, lifestyles, and beliefs. Submissions may be fiction or nonfiction. Students may work individually or as a team (up to four members). Please see the contest rules on the website for details and information. Submissions may be mailed or emailed.
