The Funds will only accept scholarship applications from current high school seniors who are U.S. citizens and who have been accepted to an accredited college or university in the United States. The applicant must show a “community connection” to Artesia, New Mexico. An applicant who has attended Artesia High School for at least 3 years will have a sufficient community connection. Alternatively, an applicant can show the required community connection from (i) being a child of an employee of Mack Energy Corporation, Chase Farms, or Deer Horn Aviation who is employed outside Artesia, New Mexico, or (ii) being a child of an employee who is employed outside Artesia, New Mexico, by another employer which has its headquarters in Artesia, employs 100 or more people in Artesia, and has significant owners with close ties to Artesia or is a government or non-profit organization that employs more people in Artesia than outside of Artesia.
