This scholarship is for seniors who are residents of and graduating from public high schools in the District of Columbia (DC). To qualify, applicants must have admission to and commitment to attend an accredited four-year college in the United States as a candidate for a degree; have a demonstrated commitment to community service and social change; have an economic need for financial assistance and a family income of less than $70,000; and have a solid academic record demonstrated by an overall 2.75 GPA or better, at least 1500 combined between critical reading, math, and writing SAT scores, and a score of 6 or above on the essay section of the SAT.
