Review of University of the Sciences

from Warminster, PA

Do you feel you’re learning a lot?

At the University of the Sciences the courses are tough but you learn so much from them. Each semester's courses build on the knowledge you obtained from the previous courses, so you never really forget what you have learned. I also find that even the courses that are not specifically aimed for your major are helpful in other aspects of your life, such as the way you view the world.

Do you enjoy the experience at your school?

I enjoy being at this school for multiple reasons. USP is a small school so you become close with those in your year and other years, your teachers, and the staff! The campus is also beautiful and has a lot of security. This university is also recognized for its academic excellence by prospective employers. The downside is that USP is constantly focused on studying and grades rather then school spirit, so if you want a school that rallies and goes nuts for their sports teams this would not be the school for you.

Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?

USP is worth going to if you are serious about your major and want to be well off after you graduate. This school is expensive but the classes teach you and prepare you for a lot and are geared toward your specific major from year one. However, the cafeteria does not have a vast selection, the library is small, and the meal plans can be outrageous in that they do not carry over from semester to semester, so anything left over is money lost out of your pocket.

Do you have any tips for prospective students?

A helpful hint I would give to an incoming freshman would be to have fun and make lots of friends. People hear often focus so much on grades that they isolate themselves or stress themselves beyond necessity. However, you still need to remember where you are. The school is hard and requires a conscious effort to get good grades, but you should always make some time to go out, have fun, and relieve some stress!

Which types of students will excel at your college?

This school is excellent for anyone looking for a career in Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, or any other career involved in the sciences.
