Review of The Art Institutes

from Charlotte, NC

Describe your college in three sentences.

I really enjoy this school. While expensive, I feel as if the education is thorough and the teachers are great. You will have to work hard in order to keep up with the fast paced classes.

Do you have any tips for prospective students?

It's expensive. Do not go here if you can't afford it otherwise you'll bee paying in student loan debt later. Don't waste your own time either by flip flopping through programs. You NEED to know what program you want to pursue with your artistic abilities otherwise you're just wasting your money.

Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?

Very fast paced. You've gotta keep up or else you will quickly fall behind. I feel as if my teachers are teaching me everything they know. There are a select few who seem like they have no idea what they're doing but I've experienced that at every college I've attended.

Describe the dorm life at your college.

I can't speak for dorm life because I live by myself in an apartment uptown. From what I've heard, it's convenient but not necessarily fun.

Describe the food and dining at your college.

I love the creative palette cafe! The food is always awesome.

What’s there to do for fun at your college?

There are a TON of clubs you can join and the groups are always doing some project or other.

Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?

It really is expensive but I feel like I'm getting what I paid for (a fast pace thorough education)

Which types of students will excel at your college?

The students here are very diverse. We're all of the artistic variety but we express ourselves very differently.

Are you involved in any clubs or activities?

So many clubs, omg. I really had a hard time narrowing it down to three.

Are you involved in any clubs or activities?

There are no sororities/fraternities.

How would you describe campus safety? Do you feel safe on campus?

It's a pretty small campus and it's not in the bad part of town. It's actually near some really nice business offices and a park. There's a golf course nearby too. Campus is beautiful! Right on a pond. There's really no areas for lurkers and I have never seen any fights, drama, or any incidents involving violence, drugs, alcohol, etc. There's also always a security guard at the main entrance to the school checking IDs. Side entrances require the ID to be scanned in order to get into the school.
